Hi! Well I've finally started to try and figure how I can turn some of my studio stuff into live performances (Because come April I'm going to have to do it for real!) So I'm looking at mix mode to map several sounds across the 88 keys. For instance one song requires something like this 70s lead monosynth Airey/Breathy Pad and 5ths polysynth with velocity switching gothic choir Dirty Bass synth So I've mapped the top 3 octaves to a mono lead, the bottom octave a dirty synth bass and in the middle I currently have the choir. But can I use the S1 and S2 to switch this to a polysynth/pad combo? When you are in mix mode that tab seems to go away? Suggestions would be welcome! Thanks in advance

I personally use the modwheel for that - you can specify an 'alternate range' in a Song (and I guess also in a Mix). That works excellent.

Well I've made it work with the mod wheel OK, but for some reason even though I specify Knob 1 and set the alt range from 0 - 64 I can twiddle knob 1 until my fingers drop off and it makes absolutely no effect Shame cause I alread have mod wheel in use on this one too Any ideas anyone? Happy Christmas Mark

Do you have the latest OS version? I had an issue with knob 1 not responding and it was fixed in an OS update. I believe it was 1.24 that fixed it.

Could someone else help to confirm this please.
I really can't get any knob to work on alternate range
Create a mix choose two instruments like a piano and some strings. In edit mode select the strings click the part tab and select Range.
Tab down to alt range and select Mod Wheel Set alternative low = 0 and alternative high = 64
Now when you play with the wheel you can bring in the strings (it only does this on newly triggered notes, not on sustained notes) OK this is exactly the behaviour I want, but not on mod, I want it on a knob.
So now change alt range to Knob 1. If I do this no amount of Knob 1 twiddling will deselect the string sound.
I'd like someone to confirm this before I pester Alesis with it. I am sure it must be human error on my part.
Thanks

PS: THis is the same for all knobs, not just knob 1

Hi Mark,
I tried this and it works fine with me. Did you 'link' both tracks (e.g. setting them both linked to 'A')?
