The best advice i got when i got my fusion 2 years ago was......TAKE IT SLOW!!..
seriously, there is a lot you can do with this beast... take your time to understand the basics, before trying to do all the clever stuff... within a month i was using mine for recording pretty much whole songs..., the fusion has its limitations but if your like me and need a board that does almost everything on a budget you have got months even years of fun ahead of you...
have fun and check out the fusion tutorials that are linked from this site... they are a brilliant place to start...
Cheers
Andy

The best advice i got when i got my fusion 2 years ago was......TAKE IT SLOW!!.. Absolutely! seriously, there is a lot you can do with this beast... take your time to understand the basics, before trying to do all the clever stuff... Yep! what scares me is the downloading from computer bit,got any ideas?didnt get any software with the board ...nothing in the box apart from the mains lead!!doh!!cheers pal! If you are apprehensive, then don't do it! A high percentage of 'failures' and problems and "XYZ not found" error messages, etc., can be attributed to people dicking around with the drive contents without knowing what they're doing. Installing new sounds is a drag n drop process over USB and it's pretty easy and straightforward once you know how it works. Until then, however, you risk buggering everything (and worth making a back-up of your Fusion's drive before doing ANYTHING! It can take a while so maybe do it overnight.) All the instructions for installing sounds are at Alesis' site and elsewhere. No software is supplied with Fusion because it is not required - it's either drag n drop from your Mac/PC and/or taken care of in Fusion's own UI. By your own admission, you've had your Fusion a day. Learn to walk before you run! The thing is shipped with many hundreds of sounds so it's not like you're short of them. Explore those first perhaps. Steve
