I had mentioned this issue with the Fusion on the other forum. Basically what was going was I have my Fusion 8HD velocity scaling setting set at the default which is 31. This setting works great for me when playing the Fusion sounds from its keyboard however when playing for instance,Kontakt2 or Reason3 sounds from the 8HD the soft-synths would end up sounding muffled. I know that if I changed the velocity scaling setting to 50 on the Fusion that the Kontakt2 or Reason3 sounds come out better however that setting does not work for me with the Fusion sounds. So I bought a velocity convertor box by MIDI solutions which solved this problem .

Goodness... I find my 6HD becomes most compatible with me at a sensitivity of 65ish. Perhaps I'm just preternaturally light-fingered...?

I have mine set to 50 LIN(ear) that works fine for me with the internal sounds and all external modules and software.
This is on an 8HD but my cohorts Rob and Dan have 6HDs and that setting seems fine for them too.

I may need to notch it back up a smidge.

I´ve setted my 8HD Fusion´s Global Velocity Scaling to 50 too. It works good with all my other external sound modules, VSTs and of course with the internal sound.
Fusion´s Aftertouch is very sensitive and really easy to control, so it´s a good idea to check the concerned modulation setting of external sound modules and VSTs when playing them with the Fusion as master keyboard. This is great when using synths like the JD800, where the internal keyboard doesn´t allow a cool Aftertouch handling, in fact you need samurai power to activate the JD800´s Aftertouch.

Yes my settings are on the low side being that I am a piano player. My settings may not work for most people but they work for me.

I was very settled with whatever the default sensitivity was with OS 1.2.something (ie a couple of versions ago - 1.22?). Since 1.23 Ive found myself tweaking it quite alot and still havnt quite got it there - left it on about 36 and just decided to get used to to it again as is rather than mess with it. I do find that it is still a little quiet when playing other synths through it on other synths - stock painos for eg on my Motif ES Rack come out way too quiet, but then I never did really like the way yamaha set their velocity to level, whereas the 8HD allways felt 'just right' when I first got it. Have since tweaked most of the sounds I regularly use on other synths anyway to reduce the amount of volume range and enhance the timbre range (saves needing to use a compressor as much). Anyway - mid 30s seems to work best for me - mean normally I allways in the mid velocitys zones when playing unless I nail it. If I need to bang out some pianos on near full velocity continuously for ages (house styles stuff for dance tracks) - then I just use a synth board

Wow! I like mine at 24! You guys have it high for me. You must have to barely touch it to get the soft tones. I bet you are losing some softness actually. So some programs have a softer tone to them that you never even hear. because your set too high to even be able to have it there. So you are missing dynamic range set up over 35 or so.

With sounds like the indiginus blueridge I'd probably need a hammer to get the slide samples to trigger at that level!!!

I don't ever play any guitar sounds on it. As I am a guitar player, the real guitar is much better. I used to be at 27-32. But I got lower now. At high numbers, even if hit softly, there is a whole soft and subtle area never reached. Just can't hit it soft enough. That is why I stay at lower numbers. That or I just can't play as softly as I think. But maybe with weighted. Like the 8hd. I have the 6hd.

30 here - (but also, I like to play on 'heavy' keybeds, I also play an acoustic Yamaha grand which has a quite heavy touch)
