Hi if you are having problems with SF2 conversion using the fusion converter program, as i have has please read the following
Do not convert SF2 direct to your fusion is does not work
Thanks to Piotr and BastMaus for there help it was invaluable cheers guys
1. I converted each of the sf2 in fusion converter as an achieve 2. I made a new achieve folder for each sf 3. Once i transfered all sf2 in to the archive section, i then went to the convertor archive folder on the C/drive where all the data is stored 4. I copied and pasted each sample, multi, and program folder to the correct same folder on the fusion via USB. the text file will update automatically 5. I verified the fusion after each sf transfer, but it is not required as one verification after all transfers is ok, i was being a bit cautious 6. I then had 20 extra bank folders. 7. Using fusion sort via USB i created a new bank, i also used a remaining sections of a bank i created before for the hollow sun sets and free packs 8. I then dragged and dropped the programs into a spare location in each bank, filled the bank i created before and started on the new bank 9. verified again. 10. you can have as many programs in a bank as you like, but i stick to the A-P format, you do not have too
everything is now in place and i have hundred of new sounds in two banks A-P x 2
good luck, let me know if you have any problems ;D

When I tried to convert SF2 sounds with the FusionConvertor, it worked fine. I tried with six different soundfonts, with no problem.

Are you saying you can converted sf2 in the fusion converter direct to the fusion keyboard as i cannot get this function to work, it will put all the folder and files in the correct places but comes up with errors, quite a few other fussion users have complained about the same problems and same errors. The only way i can guarantee success is the way i have stated in using the archive mode and copy and paste. If direct way works for you that,s good, because that is how it is supposed to work I am puzzled why it works for some and not others

It may be the SF2 files that you are trying to convert. They are not all created equally I guess. Have you contacted the Fusion converter people?

Generally, my experience has been that the samples in the soundfont map OK, but you need to program your own velocity response on filters and volume, which get lost along the way (or translate at very low additive levels not multiplicative).

Indeed - the 'jump start' for editing your program would be:
- go to modulation - envelope to volume - change 'additive' into 'multiplicative'
That gives me usually a quite playable program.
Obviously you can refine this by adding a modulation route from velocity to the filter, some random pitch for warmer sounds etc

Interesting I tend to loose the association to OSC1 & 2 for some strange reason I have looked at the program file by opening it in notepad on the PC and although its says it contains information it does not contain anything. I know that the fusion converter does work and does decode the information but somehow when it writes it direct to the fusion something goes wrong. I have seen on another forum, users with the same issue As long as i can complete the task one way or another i am happy, i would like to work it out, but i rather spend time trying to play a bit better but thanks for you feedback
