Yeah, it's me again. Can anyone tell me how 2 cut & paste on this thing? How about copying tracks? Not audio - just synth tracks.

OK. From the manual, because I don't have a Fusion in front of me:
To cut a section of track, go to Song / Editor / Tracks, and select all the tracks you want to cut from; you can set the region (start and end points) too. Then press Process; now you can choose Cut or Copy, adjust the region, and choose the types of events to include. After that, you can do it again and choose Paste Over (dump the notes into the destination track replacing what's there) or Paste Mix (dump again, but mingling with what's there), and choose a Start for the paste and a number of Repetitions.
Interestingly, you can also do Paste Mix with the audio tracks. So the Fusion can bounce tracks down after all? It might not be good, but it does appear to be there...

Can you also apply effects to an audio track from the effects pallette just like a MIDI track?

Not as far as I know. You can feed audio tracks through the bus effects, but to record them again you'll need a couple of cables to connect the output back into two of the HDR inputs.

I knew somebody could help. The sequencer thing isn't so bad after all! I owe U one. Now, does anybody know about FL7 or Albeton Live (just in case I suck @ cut & paste)?

Gwen, thanx 4 the cut & paste tip. Who needs a pattern sequencer when U can do this? With Arps & cut & paste... it's all so easy! The next person I hear crying about the sequencer... Just do what I did - ask questions & use what U got. I like this board more every day! Thanx again.

Me ! I need a pattern sequenceur. It is here time consuming doing copy/paste things that you can do in 1s with a PC. Just use FL Studio to compare and you 'll ove it. Anyway, I'm convinced that if you want to reproduce a score in linear mode, OK the Fusion sequencer can be enough (even not easy to use) but to create something or to initiate works, Alesis missed big steps.

And yet other people find themselves much more at home with linear sequencers than pattern-based ones, and would probably hate FL Studio with a passion.
Can we please all stop making sweeping statements like "Alesis got it wrong" and accept that this topic falls into the 99% of "right or wrong" questions that are actually no more than personal preference - and that this cry of "everything must work the same way" is actually the death knell for creativity?

Using FL would be great if U could just tell me how 2 do it. I'm using an M-Audio midisport usb to & from my fusion... what do I need 2 do? I know the cut & paste is a bit odd but in place of a pattern sequencer... it works for me right now. I'm a pattern guy unless I'm playing guitar - but I'm not gonna complain as long as I get what I need out of this board. Even if it takes a while & a few headaches!
