There's a local company that makes handmade sausages. Because they are Welsh, they exploit the Welsh flag which is a dragon.... so they call their sausages "Welsh Dragon Sausages". No problem ... people buy them and love them. Except.....
Some stupid government organisation with nothing better to do has intervened and proclaimed that because the sausages don't use use real dragon meat, the packaging is misleading and could confuse users!
As such, said company has been forced by law to withdraw their product from the market and re-label their product to indicate that their sausages are actually made from pork (even though the ingredients list on the packaging makes this clear). And apparently they have to state "Not made with real dragon meat" on their packaging!
This is going to cost the company a fortune and a loss of profit (which might make make subsequent products more expensive as they try to recoup).... just because some suited arse in some daft government office tries to justify his his overpaid existence.
Ermmmmm.... how about 'Toad in the hole' (a "Does not contain real toad" warning?)
Or 'Shepherd's Pie' (a "Does not contain real shepherds" warning?)
Or fish fingers (a "Does not contain real fingers from fish" warning?)
And what about prawn balls or meat balls.... ?!!!
Worse still.... the well-known English pudding 'Spotted Dick' (a "Does not contain real penis" warning?)
Hmmmmm - life in the modern world ... like buying a bag of peanuts as I did the other day only to notice the politicaly correct legal disclaimer "Might contain nuts" ... it's bag of peanuts FFS - what else do I expect?
I despair!
