After years of covering the News that others choose to mock, the weekly World News has scooped the straight press on the biggest story of... well... EVER. Now if you will all excuse me I am going to run out and get a carton of cigarettes!

Hey that's great! Every year, death continues to be our number one killer, but no more!

According to the article the Grim Reaper ( I swear to God this is what it says) "could not be reached for comment". They had to talk to an assistant reaper.

...Susan? And did she DO THE VOICE? Well it's a bit debatable who we are talking about as Death's assistant. Mort (Short for Mortimer) was brought on as death's apprentice, and did stand in briefly during Death's sojourn on a farm reaping a more mundane harvest. But he didn't stick with it and ended up going of and marrying Ysabell (Death's adopted daughter) and they went on to a sadly short mortal life. Susan, Death's adopted granddaughter (orphaned child of Mort and Ysabell) did take on the role for a while, but really, could she be described as an assistant? More a temporary substitute while Death got his head together. The Death of Rats could be looked on as an assistant, at a stretch, but since he only deals with rodents that's a bit limiting. The closest in my view would be Albert, though he is actually a cross between butler and cook (Though obviously he only cooks for himself - mostly greasy fry-ups!) Maybe this publication should come clean and say who they interviewed.

Well, as you point out, Mort is now dead, and they did say "an assistant reaper" (my emphasis) which would appear to count out Albert (and probably Binky too, for that matter) - and the Death of Rats is, of course, not an assistant anything (as it would assert with a definitive S QUEAK!). I'd assert that Susan is indeed the closest, nay the only candidate... But then they're just going to come out and say they got the word from Daisy Adair, and all our speculation will be for naught.
