Can we get some suggestions for some new music to buy? What new electronic music artists are you listening too? What sort of music are they making? What else is out there? Rod

In Cleveland, OH there isn't much of an electronic music scene, but there are two bands from here you should try and check out. Travelogue and 20goto10. I believe 20goto10 just disbanded, but their music is awesome. Find them on myspace or visit the websites www.artoftravelogue.com and www.20goto10.us. Both bands have that 80's retro electro/pop sound, and use nothing but analog synths and vocoders. These are two of my most favorite bands.

Well... Travelogue should be getting themselves a Fusion or 2 - ideally suited for them.
20goto10's site wasn't available.

Can we get some suggestions for some new music to buy? No suggestions for any new artists - what little I hear does very little for me I'm afraid. I always return to Tomita - can listen to him any time ... an absolute master of synthesis who was making sounds on Moog modulars as far back as 1972 that still haven't been bettered today with all we have. The fact that he interprets the works of my favourite composers (Debussy, Ravel, Stravinski, etc.) helps the enjoyment but even now, I listen to that stuff 35 years on and still I wonder how the hell he did some of it! He can be tasteless as hell sometimes with silly, comical, gimmicky sounds at inappropriate moments but jeeez .... And I am a huge fan of early electronic music - Subotnik, the Barrons, Radiophonic Workshop, etc., and early Tangerine Dream ('Phaedra' in particular). New stuff? Yeah - there's nice stuff out there but none of it does much for me. In fact, in the 'new' category, the stuff that has recently probably impressed me the most is that done by our very own Falcon of this parish - I will often have his stuff on in the background or in the car! Hey.. both Travelogue & 20Goto10 were at the Autobahn Fall Event. I recorded that entire event with the Fusion and we are putting out a live CD. The CD arrives from the manufacturer on Tuesday! BTW, not to be the bearer of bad news, but 20Goto10 just called it quits. Their myspace page is still up though: www.myspace.com/20goto10Steve: I agree that Travelogue should get a Fusion, even mentioned it to him while he was in town.. but he is completely into pure analog right now. We were talking tech a couple of years ago when I interviewed him for Automata magazine, he has an analog synth collection that would make most of us salivate. He played his EML Polybox at the Autobahn Fall Event.. I had never even seen the synth before. Gary
