youtube.com/watch?v=73ldEsJLKT0I just posted this today after going to Universal Studios Orlando. The BTTF ride is closing March 30th 2007. I was lucky enough to get there before it closed down permanently. The video is my farewell tribute to that ride. I understand that rides come and go in theme parks.. but this one.. wow.. an era gone by for sure.

Sad to see that go - looks great fun. BTTF Part1 is one of my fave films ever - pretty much everything about it is excellent!
Nice video tribute.

Thanks for that Rich, hadn't realised it was being closed down. I have been on that ride sooo many times, it is still my favourite at Universal. The whole 'wait in line' experience just builds to the ride itself. I was there the first year it opened in Orlando and been back several times since, but the biggest thrill was a couple of years ago taking our own son on the ride and watching him experience it for the first time. Then the second, then the third etc etc It's been there a while for sure and things move on but it was the start of a whole new era in simulation rides and will be missed.

I'm finding a lot of people just didn't know about the impending closure which is amazing to me. I will wholly admit that the Spider-Man ride (which is also simulation) beats the living snot out of BTTF in its tech, but still.. the fact BTTF help up this long is nothing short of incredible. I thought it was awesome. Made me feel like I was ten years old all over again.
