Is it the event of the young century or crass commercial cash in? Both? Discuss!

I'm with Lauren Laverne there.

I like Victoria Beckham. She's all right. A good example of the incredible art of implantation. Kudos to her surgeon. The rest haven't faired all that well.

VB looks ill and desperate, Geri looks like a hippie throwback and Mel B just looks like a high class hooker. The only 2 talented ones in that motley crew are Mel C and Emma, who both not only look stunning but can boast successful solo careers that eclipse all the others put together.
I'm firmly of the belief that this will benefit the 3 crap ones more than the 2 good ones.
But hey, people are suckers for a bit of a comeback and someone somewhere will get very wealthy from this.

I remember watching Molly Dineen's documentary about Geri a few years ago. Unfortunately, in the scenes between her and her mother, it became painfully obvious why she was so desperate to be famous - and why, at the same time, it wasn't actually doing anything for her. I've only ever felt sympathy for her since...

Geez, Scary Spice certainly lost the baby weight [Eddie Murphy's kid], didn't she? And I know a bunch of keyboard players who would happily go on the road with them......

It's always funny how a little time and lack of royalty checks will dull the memory of why a group came to hate the sight of each other in the first place. I'm just still glad that Germany didn't decide to go on a reunion tour when they got back together!

Speaking of reunions... Did I hear the original lineup of Asia is touring? -Doing songs from each respective member's old bands, too? Anyone heard? I also heard that Paul Rodgers & Queen have nine songs in the can right now and plan to finish up soon? D

I have to agree with all of that! VB particularly... Why anyone thinks it's cool to look like a concentration camp victim is totally beyond me. The sad thing is she's become a role model for so many teens who just have to have that "size zero" look too. Both daughters of the people who live opposite my folks are desperately ill with eating disorders, they don't look glamourous they look like what they are very very sick.

VB is more like some kind of creature than a (human) woman!
The two funniest things I have heard recently (on British TV) are . . .
1. The very funny and bitchy Charlotte Church saying that VB will soon be appearing as a cover star for Vanity Fair . . . they are planning to put her on the spine!
2. And this week Queen Bitch herself, Joan Rivers, saying that VB will be in for a shock when she finds out that she is actually considered fat by Hollywood standards!
Seriously, I am surprised to find that I find Mel C the most attractive of them all these days! She has come a long way from that awful Sporty Spice image!
And as for the music etc., I spend too much time planning the absolute destruction of all boy bands to have any room for thoughts about girl bands . . .
