I've seen a few post here and there regarding possible problems of using the Fusion on a stand where it's not supported by its own feet - like an Ultimate Support.
Issues? Something to just be careful about? If not a problem, what the heck started those threads anyway?

Well, mine's on the bottom tier of a Quicklock 3-tier stand which just misses its feet, and it seems to perform without any problems. What's being reported?

Not sure "reported" is the correct word. There was just some discussion a good while back on the other forum. Might have just been somebody looking for something else to complain about... Unless the bottom of the thing flexes when supported not by the feet, how *could* anything be wrong?

I have my 8HD on the extra-long arms on an ultimate stand. Really stable, I'm quite happy thrashing the thing without fearing it's going to fall off. Bear in mind that the ultimate stand arms have the support surface covered in a neoprene type material, protecting the underside of the board from damage. The only problem is that because it is a single column support the CF slot and the USB slot are pretty much right by the column, so I always have to swing the board out a tad to get those two goodies in when I need to. It also looks rather cool

I've seen a few post here and there regarding possible problems of using the Fusion on a stand where it's not supported by its own feet - like an Ultimate Support. Issues? Something to just be careful about? It's nonsense... utter nonsense. Furthermore, ALL keyboards' feet are at the four corner extremes of the base so the same would apply to them as well. The only thing that could cause a problem is if the case is weak/flexible but that is not the case with Fusion, the chassis of which is strong metal and very sturdily built. If in doubt, of course, you could always put a shelf of wood on the stand and then place Fusion on top of that but there is no need. If not a problem, what the heck started those threads anyway? Who knows? I swear that some people just make shit up for the hell of it Steve

Well, after getting my F8HD set up, the only problem with a stand I see is that the Fusion seems to "tilt back" just a bit. Two pieces of foam about 2 inches thick in the back seem to give it just the needed about of "tilt forward"...

I've only had problems with the first 8hd that GC sent me because it got beaten up pretty badly during shipping. It was a used/demo floor model by the way. When I set it on my stand the last lower key would stick down. I have a brand new 8HD now and I have no problems with any of the keys so I don't believe there should be any problems with a Fusion that has been taken good care of. As for my 6HD, no problems on any stand I have.

The problem may be that the bottom of an 8HD is not flat Only very slightly. And most stands have rubber or plastic 'grippers' to stop anything slipping. Steve

The problem may be that the bottom of an 8HD is not flat, while the bottom of a 6HD is... No it isn't - my 6HD's bottom has a quarter-inch-ish step up about halfway into its depth... and from looking at it on the stand, it's actually resting on that ridge, at least in part. (Actually, no; it's still clear of that ridge, thanks to the lift of the stand's grippers.) (However, even if I were unduly worried about it, an 80cm piece of hardboard, or even a couple of narrow beams of wood, across the stand would sort that out. A couple of quid from your local DIY shop doesn't seem a terribly big deal to me. )

OK Here's my 8HD on it's Ultimate Support. It's been on it for 8 months It's been gigged on it It gets played pretty much every day. Does this settle the point now?

Um, I'm confused - aside from easily checkable things like whether or not a 6HD's underbelly is flat (which I wouldn't expect anyone who didn't have one to know anyway), nobody was disagreeing about anything, and nobody needed to settle anything... However, as you asserted above, that rig does indeed look rather cool.

Jezz, what did I start?
The bottom of the 8HD isn't compeletely flat, so when it goes on a stand, it simply "tilts back" a little too much for me. Using simple foam blocks to prop the back up just a bit cured that problem for me. Your experiences may differ, contents may have settled during shipping, and items may be closer than they appear in the mirror!
I'm having a custom piece of plexiglass made for the second level of my stand to mount my Waldorf XT, laptop, and possible 2nd small controller keyboard on. As soon as I get that done, I'll post pics.
Cheers!

I am duly chastened, and I'll try not to do it again.
