The first Vstream sound bank "Korch M1" is finished.
It consists of Korg M1 samples from modified presets and usersounds.
As I am a newbie in the world of sampling I am aware the samples, creating loops and programs can be done better or via the VA engine and
I'm sure some of the samplesloops are to long.
Anyway, the fusion's loadingtimes are fast enough not to be a problem.
I consider this as my first fusion sample project or and I hope some programs, samples will be usable in your music.
The M1Voixer for example is a typical Korg sound.
For those who want to know which tools were used and the different steps I took, here is a short description:
I first switched off the effects on the Korg M1 and sampled in mono on the Roland Fantomx7 (because I was familiar with the fantom's audiotools).
Then I batch renamed the sample001.wav, sample002.wav,... with total commander to M1_%name%_%counter%
All loops are created with Zero-X seamless looper. If little clicks occured I crosswaved the sample with a few samples.
Seamless looper is a very and userfriendly tool as it's easy to search looppoints in batch.
(by pressing "i" you can assign the pitch, pressing "l" for selecting the different loop points in a sample and "x" for generating a crosswaveloop.)
All sample are cropped by loop end and normalized.
With the fusionconverter I converted the samples to fusionformat. To be honest I still don't understand how this software works and what to select.
White keys, black keys, one key per sample,...? Sorry chickensys.
Probably I choose the wrong settings.
I moved all samples, multisamples out of the subfolders to a new volume folder and deleted all bank.txt files and programsfolder.
Then I copied the \volume\samples\Korch M1 and \volume\multisamples\Korch M1folder to the fusions and started assigning the samples to the keyboard zones.
I found it annoying that the pitch (for example m1_xxx_01 is C0, m1_xxx_02 is C1 and m1_xxx_03 is C2,...) was not recognized when converted so I had to adjust manually. If anyone can help me here, please do so.
Then I generated the programs.
I already am looping some Roland JD990 sounds but I need to rehearse for our band and have little time.
I used rar instead of zip because the size is smaller and uploaded it on Rapidshare.
