I'm trying to chop a sample & I can't figure it out. I want to put the entire sample on c-1 then half of it on c-2 the 1/4 of it on c-3 and so on. Do I copy & put the regions in new zones or what?

1. I copy part of the wave from zone 1 2. I created a new zone 3. I pasted what I copied to the new zone and "no waveform data" message

You should go to ZONE / GENERAL (or SAMPLE / SELECT) and assign the sample you want to the new zone. I actually don't know what COPY/PASTE does Steve

I got that part but when I edit (crop) either sample, it affects both zones. Why is that?

I got that part but when I edit (crop) either sample, it affects both zones. Why is that? Because you have the one sample assigned to two zones - any edit you make to one will affect the other. It's like having one image shared by two word documents - edit the pic to suit one of the word docs and it will affect the pic in the other doc. To overcome this, you duplicate the pic and use one copy in one doc and the edited version in the other. This is also pretty much the same with all samplers as well - very few allow 'in place' editing of the samples assigned to the zones (although I must admit, Fusion's editing implies that you can edit samples within zones independently). You will need to use copies of the source sample, one for each zone. Steve

Alternatively, don't crop them - use the Sample / Zone / Settings screen to set independent sample start and end points on the one big sample. (As far as I'm aware, the sample won't play past the loop end anyway, so you might as well use it as a sample end; if you want a one-shot sample, set the loop start to the same point.)
