Hello Fusioneers,
I've run into a bit of a problem while trying to use the Fusion Converter with a .wav file. Seems when I convert the .wav file and then load it into the Fusion, it only plays on one note/one key.
I looked through the options of the Fusion Converter and it seems kind of vague for explaining any in depth details. Since I was not sure, I left well enough alone for now.
What I would like to happen is, when I convert the .wav and upload it to the fusion, I want it to play on all possible keys with in it's own note/key range. Where as when I press the middle "C" it will be an actual sound of middle "C" and if I press an "E" it will have an actual sound of an "E" etc.
I don't want to have it where, when I press a "C" and then go on to press an "E" that the "E" sounds the same as the "C".
Any help on this topic, I'd appreciate.
Thanks,
VykenMax ;D

On the Club home page, scroll down near the bottom and find the tutorial section. Download the tutorial PDF on editing a sample program. That will explain how to map key ranges.
Shout if you need more help.

Are you telling me there is no way to set this up in the Fusion Converter, that once the .wav sample is converted and loaded into the Fusion, I then need to use the Tutorials to accomplish what I am trying to do?

Yes. Once you have the sample in the Fusion you have to assign each sample to a range of keys. For that you should consult the tutorial. It is fairly quick to do once you learn how.

I just found out how to use the Fusion Converter to assign all the keys. Only problem is, is the .wav file sounded great in the computer based wav editor before I converted it and loaded it into the fusion. Once I loaded it into the fusion, the converted .wav sounds crappy. I'm not sure why this is.

I haven't run into any issues where the WAV sounds bad once inside the Fusion and I've use it a fair bit. Are you sure there are no additional effects or modified EQ in line with the sample?

strange, my converted wav's sound exactly the same in the Fusion. Sure you're not running them through some filters or FX? Did you listen to the raw sample?

I took a sound that was already on the fusion, from the layer/split catagory, because I did not want the split in it. I only wanted one of those split sounds to be all across the keys and not split at all, but... as I stated, it sure sounded crappy.
Is there a way to take a sound thats in a layer/split catagory and take the high end of the split section and make it so that it is the only thing that plays on the keyboard, instead of having the split in it? If this is possible, please... if you can give some brief details.
Thanks,
VykenMax ;D

Hang on - by "layer/split sounds", do you mean the SPLIT-LAYER bank of Mixes? As in, things which are composed of Programs, and editable in their own right? Why not just make a copy of the mix, delete the parts you don't want, and tweak the key ranges of the ones you do? * boggle* Since there's no way you could have missed that after reading the tutorial material to which you've already been referred, I can only conclude that you haven't read it yet. Go and do so. Now. Unless... Hmm. I believe I've heard something along these lines before... Sanity check time: Are you allergic to the buttons on your Fusion...?

That is alright, I did read through the tutorials. They are a bit hard to comprehend to some people, and I suppose I just happen to be one of those people. I do appreciate you being kind and generous with information. Good Luck everyone, VykenMax ;D

Oops. This really isn't the place to be bragging about your exploits in copyright violation... I think you are reading things, that simply aren't there... You must be the person that everyone else is talking about on other forums on the internet. But that really does not matter. I don't care what people may say about you, I still think you are a rather good person.

Well, no, they aren't there now. Not now you've deleted the bit about your friend giving you a 200Gb disk drive with $10k commercial samples on it. « Last Edit: Today at 4:41pm by vykenmax » Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about the edit timestamp, is there? * sigh* Yes, I do indeed recognise that unique blend of incoherence, dishonesty and sociopathy. Hello, tony74and26, and welcome to the forum... but I wouldn't unpack if I were you.

My friend, just so happens to own all the rights to those samples and... he owns the company that sells them. People do have friends in high places. I suppose you don't. And besides, it was fun playing cat and mouse with you... ;D Tony who... you've seriously mistaken me for someone else!
